"a whole new animal" 🇺🇸
Another beautiful RS ULTIMATE Gen 2 from customer in the USA with the RS ULTiMATE Gen 2. And thank you for much for your detailed review!:
"Moving from my DOF Reality H3 to the RS Ultimate 2 wasn’t just an upgrade, it was stepping into a completely different class of motion system. My H3 wasn’t stock either. I had an ASR3 extrusion rig mounted on top to fix the flex and give me more mounting options. That setup served me well, but the RS Ultimate 2 still feels like a whole new animal."
"The first thing you notice is how solid and heavy‑duty the entire platform is. Even though the motors look similar at a glance, the 6DOF / 7‑motor layout delivers a level of motion the H3 simply can’t touch. The traction loss is wild, the heave is dramatically stronger, and the overall range makes every drive feel more alive. The motion from Rally cars especially never ceases to put a smile on my face.
Because the RS Ultimate 2 uses a full extrusion‑based frame, there’s zero flex and a much higher payload capacity. It does take up more space than my H3 setup, but the extra motion and stability make it absolutely worth it."
"Power draw was something I wanted to understand early, so I monitor each motor through Home Assistant. On 220V, the whole system averages around 300-400W, with peaks around 630W. Even after long sessions, the motors are only warm to the touch. Noise-wise, there’s a slight hum under load, but otherwise it’s surprisingly quiet for what it’s doing."

"Setup is where the RS Ultimate 2 differs from the more plug‑and‑play nature of the H3. With DOF Reality, you’re mostly dropping the rig in place and connecting what fits. With the RS Ultimate 2, getting all the angles and measurements right is critical, and it takes time. The documentation covers everything well, but you’re definitely building a precision machine, not just assembling a motion platform.
If I had to call out a drawback, it’s the wiring. Seven motors means seven controllers, and even with everything loomed and labeled, it’s still a lot of cables to route cleanly. Once it’s done, though, the system is rock‑solid.
Bottom line: The RS Ultimate 2 is a serious step up, not just in motion range, but in build quality, rigidity, and overall capability. If you’re ready for a more DIY setup and want true full‑range motion with industrial‑grade stability, this rig delivers in every way."
